This blog gathers all information referring to the QR2D-3D project, which started in 2011.
The project started with the question whether an object can communicate a concrete message. Inspiration for this work were ancient artifacts, which are often adorned with secret signs. Those signs can reveal information about the time, the usage or even about the creator of the object. Such objects interact with us by using these symbols, the objects reveal something about their identity. However those codes stick on the objects, but do not have any influence on the shape itself.

My aim was to create an object whose shape is based on the visual nature of the chosen code and the information input. The QR cube's shape is therefore inextricably connected with the information input, the message. If we change the message the structure will follow.

The message encoded in the first cube, made in 2011, tells us something about the object's identity:

The message encoded in the second cube leads to this blog. Welcome!
I'm looking forward to document the development of the project and share it with you!

The following pictures are showing the first cube, the beginning of this project.

The second cube (which leads you here) , made in 2013, can be seen at the The East Wing Biennial. The East Wing Biennial is a contemporary art exhibition of The Courtauld Institute.
